3D laser scanning

3D laser scanning digitally captures the shape of physical objects using a laser beam. As the beam sweeps along an object’s surface, the scanner creates point clouds of digital data that accurately capture the exact size and shape of the object. Different real-world objects, spaces and locations from engines and industrial facilities to entire buildings and building sites can be scanned.

Stereoscape typically combines 3D laser scanning with virtual reality. When CAD models are not available, computer-generated VR content can be created via 3D scanning. The point cloud data are merged and processed into a photorealistic 3D representation of physical reality to provide content for immersive, interactive VR experiences.
