3D experience for SochiDrive roadshow

SochiDrive was a roadshow initiated by Volkswagen Group Rus and the Organizing Committee for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. Starting from Moscow, the show traveled 75,000 km through several Russian cities in the summer months of 2011, 2012 and 2013 before culminating in a grand finale during the Games in Sochi. SochiDrive was also recognised as the best Auto Event of 2011 in Russia.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles wanted to provide a unique 3D experience of a bobsleigh ride for the show, building on the brand’s sponsorship of champion bobsledder, Alexey Voevoda.

A 2D video featuring Voevoda was converted by Stereoscape into glasses-based 3D format. Stereoscape took care of conversion, editing, compositing, grading and project management. The project was carried out in cooperation with Louder marketing agency.
